Title

All the way home

Description

The South Sudanese community is one of many refugee communities that were forced to leave their homeland because of civil war, coming to Australia for safety and to build a new life. In a sense we are straddling two cultures and that’s a wonderful thing. We hope this book helps people to understand, that whilst we were living through hard times, it was our beliefs, our culture and our faith that kept us going. When we were running for our lives, when we were foraging for food, when we had nothing but the clothes on our back, we still had our culture and no-one could take that away from us. Our culture is the very essence of who we are. These are the stories we want our children to know [From the Kids' Own Publishing website.]
