Title

Observations from children and young people reflecting on cultural diversity

Description

It’s not different to them, it’s different to us. What is cultural diversity? What does your culture look like? What do cultures share? Young people at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne looked at their own cultural backgrounds and the diversity of cultures around them to explore the question ‘What does it really mean to be Australian?’. This project was led by RCH Education Institute teachers who work creatively with children and young people to ensure that their learning continues while they’re in hospital. Kids’ Own artist Nikita Burt led workshops in painting with oils. [From the Kids' Own Publishing website]
